So, I didn’t roll up the passenger window on the fire truck last night when it stormed. When I was driving the kids to school this morning the horn started honking, and didn’t stop. I figured one of their book bags got on top of the horn switch on the passenger side (they are foot switches on the floor) and told Alli to move them.
No help. Still honking, and it is a fire truck so it’s fucking loud.
By now cars in front of us are trying to drive up the curb onto the sidewalk to get the hell out of our way. Luckily there was a little parking lot I could pull into and shut off the truck and the battery switch. I guess I could have just turned the lights on and hit the siren and got them to school fast, but that would be pretty illegal.
As it turned out, the switch got full of water and shorted to the on position. All is well now.
